Today we (obviously) went to Corn Palace, as well as Wall Drug, on our way home and out of South Dakota.
The day started with a dip in the pool, then we were on our way. We hit Wall just before lunch, but had being seeing signs all day. Believe it or not, we actually planned to stop at Wall Drug. I got the 5 cent coffee, we all had donuts and cookies, and the girls were more willing to pose for pictures than Yellowstone and Glacier combined. Go figure. After a hot dog lunch at an inexplicably crowded rest area, we trucked on toward Kaitlyn’s most anticipated stop of the trip (seriously) – Corn Palace. We took pictures, bought postcards, ate popcorn, and took more pictures with Corneleus, the mascot. Kaitlyn cried to leave (seriously). This trip we missed Badlands and DeSmet. Sioux City, Iowa brought us Olive Garden (where Kourey made the most of the endless salad), and now just outside of Omaha in Iowa we are getting tucked into our Days Inn mega-room (the only non-smoking one left). Through all of this we’ve seen more bikers than on the rest of our trip combined (which is saying a lot) because Sturgis starts this weekend.
Tomorrow we just motor towards home. There’s no place like it, you know.
