The day before Easter (that’s last Saturday for those of you keeping score at home) our church threw it’s first ever (at least since we’ve been here) Easter Egg Hunt. It was too big for the church; we had it at the local elementary school/fort (those things get combined a lot around here).

Anja with a few of her friends, Taylor, Sami and Taylor. They worked this event Saturday, then left at 7am Easter morning for a weeklong mission trip!
More pictures after the jump!
There were several inflatables, lots of games, music, and tons of free food (I steered the kids away from cotton candy and sno-cones, but popcorn was too strong to resist. And we ALL had to have hot dogs, BBQ sandwiches, chips and drinks). Not to mention the three egg hunts (really more like egg races or egg melees, because they were just out on an open field). Kaitlyn and Kourey hunted, Anja helped with the running.
All the funnery was, well, fun, but what really made the day special was spending it with so many of our friends and members of our church family.

- Kait with her friend Reese. It’s not coincidence that she’s featuring her Juicy Juice can; her dad is the Nestle’s rep that got us all of the juices and chocolate milk, and he’s got her trained
- Kaitlyn and Mrs. Robin, her Sunday School teacher
- They were all about the popcorn. Mom and I snuck a few kernels, though.
- Kaitlyn and Lindsay; it’s rare when Kaitlyn isn’t the obvious “ham” in a picture :-
- Kaitlyn enjoying the moon bounce!
- Kourey is very proud of herself
- Three things to note in this picture: (1) Anja keeping crowd control just before Kourey tried to breech the barrier to go to her; (2) the preponderance of eggs for the 4 and under division; (3) the PACKED barriers all around the field.
- Daddy coached Kourey; she was excited with one egg. But she really got into it after a few!
- Kourey and Abby after their egg hunt.
- You can tell Kaitlyn was a whirlwind of activity in her hunt! It was over quick; those kids were MANIC!
