Wupatki National Monument

Wukoki (Hopi for "big house") was occupied from 1100-1210 AD.

We thought the ruins of Wupatki would be like the cliff dwellings at Walnut Canyon – seen from a distance – or like the ones seen at Petrified Forest – a foundational footprint for imagination.

But these were standing ruins, and you could really get up in these. Very cool!
